What You Need To Know Before Taking a Pole Class

Can anybody take a pole dancing class?

Anybody at all can take a pole dancing class, no matter what your age or size. If you are under 18, you will need written consent from a parent or gaurdian. You don't need to be overly fit, flexible or strong or have any previous dance experience as these are things we will help you to improve and build on during a course. If you are pregnant or have serious health issues, we recommend you consult your doctor before taking a class.

How do I book myself into a class or course?

Check out our current timetable on this website to select a class and time that is appropriate for you then give us a call at the studio to book yourself in. It's that simple! As just about all our classes and courses have a maximum amount of students allowed per class, we require a small deposit at the time of booking to secure your spot in the class. Deposits are non refundable without 48 hours notice of cancellation prior to the class.

If you have read over the descriptions of each course and are still unsure as to which course would be right for you, give us a call at the studio and we'll be happy to discuss your fitness with you to determine which one of our courses will get you the best results. Have a had a look at the timetable and you can't find a date or time in the course your after that matches your schedule? Give us a call at the studio and we may be able to arrange something that suits us both!

Do I need to do anything to prepare for a pole dancing class?

You should always have a bottle of water handy during class as it's important to keep your fluids up whilst exercising. If you happen to forget, we sell bottles of water at the studio. We also recommend that you don't use any body or hand moisturiser or lotion before a class as they can make it hard for you to grip onto the pole. You do not have to come to the studio already in your dancing gear as we have a change where you can get changed and store your things safely during class.

What do I wear to a pole dancing class?

For all pole dancing classes, you will need to wear a pair of shorts that leave your upper thighs exposed. This is because the skin on the top of your legs is needed to help you grip onto the pole. You can wear whatever you like on the top so long as you can move comfortably but jewerelly such as rings, braclets, watches and big earrings will need to be taken off before class.

Runners or bare feet are all you need for warm up. Bring your favourite pair of high heels or boots for the rest of the class, or if you prefer, you can continue the class in runners or bare feet. We have a selection of pole dancing shoes to purchase at the studio if you don't have anything appropriate at home.
